Divorce sucks

Divorce Sucks. There I said it. If you have never gone through one, consider yourself lucky. God hates divorce; I don’t blame him. I hate divorce too. “I hate divorce,” says the Lord God of Israel. “I hate it when one of you does such a cruel thing to his wife. Make sure that you do not break your promise to be faithful to your wife.” Malachi 2:16- The Good News Translation 

Sadly 50% of marriages today end in divorce. People often think it is just easier to start over than “fix” yourself and work on your marriage.

One lesson I learned, one of many very important lessens, is that one must have boundaries. Boundaries with other people are good. Just say ‘yes’ and ‘no.’ When you manipulate words to get your own way, you go wrong. Matthew 5:37 – The Message I learned I did not have good boundaries. That book that you recommended is great.  It really helped me.  My husband and I went through a very rough patch back in 2011 while I was pregnant with our second, and that book helped us not only in our relationship with each other, but also with his parents (who were causing a great deal of strife in our marriage).

I am in the process of getting divorced and yes I grew up very Catholic but that is not who I am. I believe and will teach my children the same but happiness from within is what makes you healthy.
